Cycling is an activity that has been around for many years. It has been used for transportation as well as recreation. Cycling is one of the most popular sports in the world and it has become more popular in recent years. There are many different types of bicycles available on the market today from mountain bikes, road bikes, hybrid bikes and BMX bikes just to name a few. These different types have different designs which makes them suited for different uses. As an example mountain bikes have wider tires than road bikes so they can better handle rough terrain while road bikes have thinner tires and lighter frames so they are faster on paved surfaces such as roads or sidewalks but not so good off-road riding through mud puddles etc
History of bicycle
The bicycle is more than 200 years old, and the earliest version was called a “velocipede.” The velocipede had two wheels, human power and was invented by Frenchman Franz Joseph Paul Nicolas Volant in 1790.
In 1818, Englishman Kirkpatrick Macmillan made some improvements to the velocipede design and changed it into what he called an “ordinary.” This later became known as a penny-farthing (because of its large front wheel) because it cost one penny for every mile traveled.
